According to a report Grier will transfer to West Virginia.

Former Florida quarterback Will Grier will transfer to West Virginia for the remainder of his college career.

The news was first reported by ESPN Staff Writer Travis Haney citing West Virginia football sources and was confirmed by WVSports.com as well as WVU.

Grier will sit out the course of the 2016 season due to NCAA transfer rules but due to prior suspension in October due to a positive test for a performance-enhancing substance it is unclear how much of a punishment will be required to be served for that.

He will have two years to play two beginning with his redshirt junior season in 2017.

As a redshirt freshman Grier was inserted into the starting lineup for Florida and threw for 1,204 yards and ten touchdowns against only three interceptions prior to the suspension. He elected to transfer after he was not guaranteed a return to the starting role following the suspension.

The quarterback visited West Virginia earlier this spring as well as taking trips to several other interested schools and was considering several places such as Ohio State, Miami, Maryland and Oregon.

Grier was an Elite 11 selection as a high school prospect out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
